The following source objects now have separate catalogue pages. Link references to the catalogue page, not solely to an upload URL or a general chronology. Existing records such as GHF-E145 (European Commission of Human Rights application and 14 April 1989 inadmissibility decision), GHF-E144 (1988 Cadw photographs / listing-file status) and GHF-E152 (reported Cadw-to-Minister letter; original awaited) remain the principal heritage control points.

Email-as-evidence rule — 17 October 2026: A material email or conversation is an evidence object, not just a chronology entry. Its dedicated record must have a unique GHF-E catalogue ID; name the source mailbox or repository and exact thread/reference; state whether the original messages and attachments have actually been captured; give a neutral description of the exchange; and put interpretation, evidential significance and limitations in a separate section below. Until the original is captured and checked, label the page a placeholder and the description provisional; do not present a summary as a verbatim transcript or treat an unanswered email as proof of non-existence or misconduct. GHF-E183–GHF-E188 are the first six Heneb / HER thread records migrated to this pattern; other email catalogue pages elsewhere on the Wiki still require review and migration.

Catalogue rule: the existence of an upload does not establish source authenticity or its full meaning. Where the original is missing, use a placeholder with a dated and search-scoped status. Where an original is uploaded but not yet examined, say so and refrain from asserting an unconfirmed conclusion.

New catalogue record — 10-10-2026: GHF-E152 — Cadw letter to the Minister concerning spot-listing, 1988 (awaited original). This is a dedicated placeholder, not a claim that the original is lost or does not exist. Use the Institutional Involvement Roadmap for the actor/date sequence.

Three new evidence records have been created for the audiovisual record, the supporting family photograph and the family’s later first-hand recollection. Each has its own dedicated evidence page and unique catalogue number.

GitHub copies are not automatically primary evidence. Each migrated item should retain its original date, source/holder, catalogue or reference number where known, and an evidence-status label. Where the archive contains an assertion rather than a source record, the assertion remains a research lead and is not promoted to fact.

Priority missing originals: Cadw’s two 29 July 1988 photographs; the 1990 GGAT assessment; the 1994 Cotswold Archaeology report; and the NLW Bute Estate finding aid. These are the most useful heritage/history records identified for direct documentary preservation. 🕒

Source custody and publication status — corrected 15 October 2026… … read more

Correction — 15 October 2026: this list previously mixed records absent from a web page with records actually missing from a custodian. Those are different statuses and must not be conflated.

  • 1938 Bute–WGR conveyance: recorded as held by the family, awaiting scan/upload to the Wiki. This is a publication gap, not a missing-family-record claim. See GHF-E121 and the 1938–39 page.
  • 1939 WGR–John Williams tenancy and plan (DBDT123/7): already obtained and analysed; the plan image is in the WordPress Media Library (item 88) and is now displayed on the dedicated evidence page. It is closed evidence, not an outstanding retrieval task. The fact that a standalone scan of the written terms is not attached separately to the page is a local filing gap, not proof that the agreement is missing.
  • 1877 Bute–Thomas agreement; 15 May 1924 agreement; 1955 High Court possession papers; 1962 County Court order; 1969 WGR–BP Pension Trust conveyance: retain these as records requiring individual source-page/custody verification. This list alone does not establish that an original or copy is absent from every relevant holder, nor that an unlinked media upload is unrelated. Check each catalogue page, media attachment and custodian response before labelling an item “missing”.

Rule: use “not attached to this page”, “family-held awaiting upload”, “partially available”, “not located after a specified search”, and “confirmed not held” as distinct statuses. Do not use “missing original” as shorthand for all five.
