DESCRIPTION A printout from the Museum’s collections database for the second object in accession 1963.24: a medieval iron spearhead, possibly 15th century, with a leaf-shaped blade and a short socket. The findspot is recorded as Llandough Church Farm, c. 1858, and the note quotes the 1931 letter almost word for word (the record’s “cookie” is a typing error for “cockle”). Unlike the spur, the record shows no display history; the spearhead has been in store.

Interpretation and wider context
INTERPRETATION This is the “spear head” the 1931 letter was written about (GHF-E106-R33-A1). Its provenance rests on that letter alone; the record adds nothing independent about where it was found.
Relevance to Great House Farm. The Museum record proves only that the object is catalogued as having been found at Llandough Church Farm. It does not itself identify that place as Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr. The Wiki therefore treats “Church Farm” as a source-specific term with unresolved identity, not as an alias. The fact that Great House Farm stands beside St Dochdwy’s Church is insufficient to make the equation. A period plan, deed, estate record or other independent identifier is required. 🕒
Points to follow up. The Museum’s identification keyword is marked “not verified” and the 15th-century date “possibly”: an expert date would help test whether the spearhead and spur belong together. The third object in accession 1963.24 is still unaccounted for. 🕒
