Mandatory dated-status rule — as at 10-10-2026: Every statement in this register that a record has not been found, is not held, has not been obtained, or that an institution’s involvement is not established describes a limited search or evidential position, not proof of non-existence or non-involvement. Unless an entry explicitly gives a later review date, the Wiki’s assessment of each open status is as at 10 October 2026; the date of an authority’s response is separately stated where known. Attribute “not held” findings to the named holder and its response, preserve the scope of the search, and update the date whenever new material is reviewed. This rule does not alter verbatim source quotations.

It is relevant to the parcel comparison but does not, by itself, establish root title to Parcel A or explain the later registration. See DBDT123/7 evidence page and GHF-E121, 1938 conveyance. CLOSED / DUPLICATE — 15 October 2026. Keep the separate 1938 title-scope and 1982–87 registration questions open.

Conveyance/assignment, probate, family papers, Land Registry/archive. Family report only at present; transaction unconfirmed.
M-047 Archaeological custody / accession trail for relevant finds Could establish what material was held, by whom, and whether any later loss can be traced. Amgueddfa Cymru, ADS, Heneb, excavation archive. Partially identified; full chain pending. 5 Oct 2026: Museum accession 63.24 (Church Farm, c. 1858; donated 1963) now published — the 1931 provenance letter (GHF-E106-R33-A1) and the object records for the spur (A2) and spearhead (A3). Still sought: the accession card, the third object in the accession, and the donor file.

European Court of Human Rights Archives / HUDOC. Decision of 14 April 1989 is on HUDOC. The case file was destroyed in 2000. Do not write that the file can still be ordered.
M-050 HMLR physical-inspection and preservation correspondence Family request dated 2–3 June 2026 for physical inspection of the historic first-registration files and for preservation while the matter remained outstanding; repeated 16–18 September and 21 September. As at 25 September the substantive inspection response and formal non-destruction confirmation remained outstanding. Land Registry Titles; Records Access Chronology; HMLR ref. N610CGV. 2–3 Jun 2026; 16–21 Sep 2026; 25 Sep status Open
M-052 Wales Office transfer or destruction docket for any Great House Farm 1988 assessment file Asked for in 26FOI 103, fourth limb. Wales Office / former Welsh Office / successor archives. Not produced. The 22 September 2026 letter assumed a transfer to Cardiff and did not produce a list, a date or a reference.
M-053 Death certificate of Mary (Nancy) Williams Asked for by MoJ on 28 July 2026 before it would process the probate FOI of 7 June 2026. Ministry of Justice / family correspondence. Not sent as at 28 September 2026. The 27 September email said “death certificate enclosed”, but the certificate was not attached. Probate FOI remains blocked on that point.
M-055 Vale of Glamorgan Borough Council 1988 planning / development-control minutes, agendas and reports Could show whether any council or planning committee considered retaining or protecting Great House Farm before the December 1988 demolition; also identify the relevant committee, decision date, officer reports and appendices. Glamorgan Archives; Vale of Glamorgan Borough Council predecessor records. General-minute catalogue leads: DCVG/C/1/33 (June–November 1988) and DCVG/C/1/34 (December 1988–February 1989); the specific planning/development-control minute series must still be identified. Outstanding retrieval. Catalogue evidence confirms general council minute volumes, not that the farmhouse or a planning committee discussion appears in them. Search minutes, agendas, indexes, officer reports and associated planning/heritage files. Absence from one volume alone would not prove that no consideration occurred.
M-054 Great House Farm architectural / pre-demolition plans and associated planning drawings Could establish what building or site plans existed, what the planning authority considered before demolition, and whether drawings were held in a planning, heritage, architect or developer file. Vale of Glamorgan Council and predecessor authority files; Glamorgan Archives; RCAHMW/Coflein; architect, surveyor or developer records. Glamorgan Archives’ 11 June 2026 email summary reportedly said no plans were listed for Great House Farm and no plans had been deposited by Vale of Glamorgan Borough Council or its successor authority in the holdings searched. This is a repository-level record gap only; it does not prove plans never existed or that none are held elsewhere. See GHF-E106-R52. The original email/attachments are not yet reproduced on that page.

MOD FOI2026/09190 — entry added 10-10-2026

Evidence: GHF-E169 — MOD internal review dated 10 October 2026.

The MOD states that its searches across MOD… … read more

The MOD states that its searches across MOD archives and targeted searches in the Army Secretariat and Counterterrorism and United Kingdom branches did not locate information matching the request. Separately, it neither confirms nor denies whether it holds Special Forces-related information under FOIA 2000, section 23(5). The review acknowledges delay and concludes that timeliness requirements were not met, without clearly identifying in its concluding paragraph which stage caused that finding. It says personal-information elements were referred for a separate subject access process.

Interpretive control: this is a dated record of the MOD’s statement, not proof that relevant historical records never existed or that military personnel were or were not involved. Keep FOI2026/09190 distinct from FOI2026/09019 unless the MOD confirms a relationship. Do not mark the subject access strand complete until its reference and substantive outcome are recorded.

Solicitors’ files — new prospective search items opened 16 October 2026

M-055 — Loosemores / appellant 1986–87 client file. Scope: instructions, pleadings, papers, counsel briefs, correspondence, title material and advice connected with BP Properties Ltd v Buckler, including any file held by Robbins Olivey & Blake Lapthorn as agents. The judgment names these firms in the appellant-side instruction chain. The current route is to ask Hugh James to identify the custodian of historic Loosemores files; Hugh James announced that it joined with Loosemores on 3 July 2023. Status: prospective request item only; request not yet sent; custody, survival and retention unknown.

M-056 — Linklaters & Paines / BP Properties appeal file. Scope: BP’s 1986–87 litigation file, counsel instructions, court bundle, material on the farmhouse/garden and any separate title/registration file disclosed by the firm. The appeal judgment names Linklaters & Paines for BP Properties in the appeal. Status: prospective request item only; request not yet sent; custody, survival and retention unknown.

M-057 — Masons / Pinsent Masons possible separate BP file. Scope: only any relevant separate conveyancing, first-registration, title or enforcement matter for which a primary document identifies Masons or a predecessor acting for BP. The published appeal report reviewed for this update does not identify Masons as BP’s appeal solicitors. Status: attribution and existence unconfirmed; request should first ask whether any responsive matter exists.

Handling rule: these are not findings that files were destroyed or withheld. First seek written confirmation of custody, transfer, retention and disposal history, and ask for a preservation hold. Do not label the letters FOI requests: private law firms are not ordinarily subject to FOIA solely because they acted as solicitors. See the ICO guidance on FOIA scope and the request plan.
