[…] Branwen Buckler near the remains of the farmhouse with children Amy, Hywel and Rhys. It was just like a wartime sight. I WAS concerned to read the report headlined Bulldozed Before Breakfast (Echo, December 6). How awful for the unfortunate Buckler family […]
Interpretation and wider context
RECONSTRUCTION. The letter is an opinion, but it carries two facts: that the Echo of 6 December 1988 ran a report headed “Bulldozed Before Breakfast”, and that a photograph of the remains of the farmhouse with the family was published by 21 December. The first is a lead for the archive search. It may correspond to N15-07 or to the cutting N11, but that is not established. The phrase “remains of the farmhouse” sits beside N11’s statement that no building was left standing, and the Wiki does not choose between them without the photograph. 🕒
