Interpretation and wider context

RECONSTRUCTION. The extract is independent evidence, dated 12 May 1988, that the chainsaw incident was already known by that date, which fits an April event (N07) and not the possession of 30 November. It also records that a Member of Parliament raised the case with the Lord Chancellor. That is a political approach reported by the paper. The extract does not show any reply or outcome.
