Quotation: “Mrs. Mary Doreen Buckler, of Great House Farm, Llandough, said she did not oppose the proposal so long as it applied only to playing fields. About 130 years ago Lord Bute allowed her family “a slice of land” which was now Leckwith Common.” (OCR)

Proves: Reported: at the 6 May 1958 inquiry into Cardiff’s Leckwith Common proposal, Mrs Mary Doreen Buckler of Great House Farm said her family had been allowed land, a right of way and grazing rights by Lord Bute.

Does not prove: It does not establish that any such right existed or was registered. Hansard (25 Nov 1958) records no petition against the order.
