Quotation (verbatim, Item 10 as published; the requester’s initials are withheld here):

“10. To receive a request from Mr [initials withheld] in relation to the following matters:

a) I am asking whether the Council would be willing to pass my details to any former member, former clerk or long-standing resident who might remember the village between the 1950s and the 1990s, leaving it entirely to them whether to contact me. I appreciate the Council may have data protection or administrative reasons for declining, and I would not press it

b) Whether the Council would consider, in due course, whether an interpretation board or a plaque near the green would be appropriate. The excavation on the land beneath Church View Close recorded 1,026 burials, described in the published report as by far the largest early medieval burial population so far recovered from Wales, above a Roman villa and an Iron Age roundhouse. That history belongs to Llandough as much as to my family, and there is nothing on the ground that records it. I would be glad to give the Council or the community a short talk on the documentary record, without charge, if that would be useful.”

Other items of the same agenda: the meeting was called “remotely only”; Item 12 is the project plan for creating a Llandough and Cwrtyrala Community Council, for discussion with Michaelston and Leckwith Community Council. Neither names Great House Farm.

Proves: The Council put a request concerning Great House Farm’s site and history before the full Council, as Item 10 of its published agenda for the 22 October 2026 meeting, issued 13 October 2026. The request asked the Council to pass the family’s contact details to former members, former clerks and long-standing residents who remember the village between the 1950s and the 1990s, leaving any contact to them, and to consider an interpretation board or plaque near the green. The agenda records the 1,026 burials excavated beneath Church View Close, above a Roman villa and an Iron Age roundhouse. The meeting was set as remote-only.

Does not prove: What the Council discussed or decided under Item 10; whether any details were passed on or a board or plaque approved; who attended. The minutes are not yet published. The agenda is silent on title, tenure and ownership of Parcel A. The item does not name Great House Farm, Tŷ Mawr or the family; its link to the farm is the Church View Close site, built on the farm’s land.

Notes: Next free step: the minutes of 22 October 2026 on the Council’s Full Council page; add the Item 10 minute here, quoted verbatim, when it appears.
