Quotation (verbatim): 13431: “Original list description of 1989”. Designation dates: 13430 and 13431, 06/04/1989; 13432, 04/06/1989.

Fits with: Cadw wrote on 21 May 2026 that Great House Farm and the barn were “assessed and rejected for listing in the 1988 community survey of Llandough”. The list that survey produced carries designation dates in April (and June) 1989. So on 3–5 December 1988, when Cadw told the press it was “considering spot-listing”, the community survey’s list had not yet been issued. That timing is our reading of the dates; Cadw has not said it.

Cuts against: The survey looks routine: the whole village was resurveyed and only three buildings were listed. Great House was graded “marginally below the bar” on 29 July 1988, four months before the eviction. The church’s date (04/06/1989) may be 6 April with day and month swapped (UNCONFIRMED).

Notes: The 1988 resurvey file for Llandough (who surveyed, the grading note for Great House, whether the interior was seen) is the record to ask Cadw for once ATISN 26-0009 and the ATISN 27589 follow-up are answered (queued, not sent).

Our case, prospective. Not a finding of any court. Catalogued by Tab (for Sion Buckler), 20 Oct 2026, from research of 16–20 Oct 2026 (free online sources only).
