Review 3157/2026 upheld the original decision that the 2 September correspondence did not identify recorded information with sufficient clarity to be treated as a FOIA request. The reviewer considered the subsequent detailed requests to be new and more specific requests. 🕒10-10-2026
Review 3176/2026 upheld the response to FOI 3156/2026. It stated that searches had covered relevant NPCC functions, Counter Terrorism Coordination Committee holdings, NPCC shared drives and ACPO archive listings available within NPCC holdings. It said the NPCC did not hold recorded information about transfer, archiving, retention, disposal or current location of relevant historical records, and found the advice given under section 16 reasonable in the circumstances. 🕒10-10-2026
The two internal reviews addressed distinct decisions and should not be merged. The review letter’s summary is not itself a substitute for source-level search logs or emails; it records the reviewer’s conclusions. See the 9 October 2026 search-disclosure letter for the subsequently disclosed search terms, listed repositories, consulted functions and retrieval email. 🕒10-10-2026

Interpretation and wider context
Read this item alongside independently catalogued corroborating and contradictory material. The existence of a record establishes that the item is catalogued; it does not prove every statement within it. Distinguish source content from inference and identify unresolved questions.
