What the letter records
Catalogue: GHF-E106-R49-A1. Institution: National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC). Reference: FOI 3156/2026. Letter date: 16 September 2026.
Original document: Open the complete original PDF. SHA-256: ab9803ba94dcf32ea946a3cb7eaa7bfc29180e520fa0bcd2a0fa7795bdf224f9.
The NPCC stated that no information within scope was identified in searches across business areas and repositories it considered most likely to hold the information, including NPCC functions, Counter Terrorism Coordination Committee holdings, shared drives and ACPO archive listings available to it. It said searches of ACPO archive listings/catalogues available to it identified no references to Great House Farm, Llandough, BP Properties Ltd v Buckler, or the described 1988 operation. It also said it held no information concerning transfer, archiving, retention, disposal or current location of such records. 🕒10-10-2026
The letter says the NPCC was established in 2015, lacked direct access to external archive/police-force/heritage holdings, could not identify a specific alternative holder from information it held, and suggested requests to individual forces. 🕒10-10-2026
This is a statement about information the NPCC said it held and the searches it said it had conducted. It is not proof that no records ever existed or that no local force or external archive holds relevant records. Search methodology and individual retrieval responses are tracked separately in the 29 September internal review and 9 October search-disclosure records. 🕒10-10-2026
